The brief

To supply and manage product sampling staff at over 100 Superdrug stores nationwide to distribute over 350,000 samples of Pantene’s Colour Expression shampoo and conditioner. P&G also required all fulfilment and logistical services to be handled by Contact.

How we executed the Sampling campaign

In addition to the sampling campaign, P&G chose to use Contact’s warehouse and fulfilment services, we were therefore responsible for picking and packing over 350,000 samples. Each store was allocated samples in accordance with likely footfall along with uniforms and briefing documents. Once the samples arrived in store – 3 sampling staff; a blonde, brunette and red head, distributed the samples to customers reflecting their own hair colour and allowing them to try before they buy.

The Results

In total 349,190 samples were given out throughout the campaign the sampling team handed out nearly 1,500 samples each per day and consumers loved the idea of trying the product first and said it would definetely make them much more likely to buy and P&G benefited by having one company manage the entire process.
