Product Sampling Case Study-Pantene Pro-V

The brief

Manage the distribution of over 350k samples nationwide of Pantenes new range Colour Expression, including fulfilment and logistical services.

Supply and manage product sampling staff for over 100 Superdrug stores nationwide.

Providing consumers with samples of both shampoo and conditioner to promote the new Colour Expressions range, in a try before you buy sampling campaign.

How we executed the Sampling campaign

Procter&Gamble elected to use Contacts warehouse and fulfilment services, therefore we were responsible for picking and packing over 350k samples. Each store was allocated a proportion of each product (in accordance with likely footfall) along with uniforms and briefing documents.

Once the samples arrived in store - 3 sampling staff (a blonde, brunette and red head) distributed the samples to customers reflecting their own hair colour.

The Results

In total 349,190 samples were given out throughout the campaign. Overall sampling team handed out nearly 1,500 samples each per day.

The consumers loved the idea of trying the product first and said it would make them much more likely to buy.

Procter & Gamble benefited greatly by having one company manage the whole process.
